This paper has mainly analyzed modernity and particularity of the identity of peasant workers. In the process of entering the city, peasant workers have played a pivotal role in the modernization of society and urbanization construction. However, such a huge reform forces are mostly forgotten or ignored, even being excluded and discriminated in reality. Therefore, they have found it difficult to eliminate the diaphragm between urban and rural, feeling difficult to get rid of the uncertainty of their own identity, which makes them extremely sensitive to society and life."Labor poet" is a representative of the "migrant workers", and the"labor poems"that they write are the reflection of their lives in the cities. To some extent, they"sing"for themselves as well as the "times". Identity uncertainty makes them feel exhausted and confused. Therefore, they pour out their psychological needs by writing poems, hoping to be accepted as who they really are.This paper has mainly analyzed the identity politics of "labor poems". First of all, it has identified the following related concepts, as such "migrant workers", "singer", "identity", "citizens", "citizenship", "citizen politics" and so on. Secondly, it has analyzed "migrant workers" have a strong identity appeal. Thirdly, it has stated that the society should understand their urgent needs for a recognition due to the identity uncertainty, and give them the respect that they deserve. Fourthly, "migrant workers" are eager to get a recognition. Meanwhile, they also construct their own identity, as well as the society and culture. At last, this paper has stated the possibilities of peasant workers'identity recognition and establishing, as well as the unique literary value of the"labor literature"in the new century literature.This paper has mainly based on Marshall's citizenship theory and other related identity theories and physical theories. Underpinned by the "labor poem" text interpretation, this paper has also borrowed ideas from the relevant research the problems of rural peasant workers sociology of research results. The author awaits that the plight of migrant workers can be improved, as well as they get back their rightful identity. In that case, a " dignified life " can be possible for each migrant worker, and we can have social fairness and justice of universal significance.
