Since The 20th Century In His Honor The History Of Music And Dance Studies Review And Reflection

In 478 B.C King Luai held a memorial ceremony for Confucius and he was the first one who used music in the ceremony .Since then the music using for memorizing Confucious (MMC) has been developing for about two thousand years until it was fully developed in Qing Dynasty . The evolvements of MMC had profound social backgrounds , so it is not only helpful for us to preserve and publicize the Confucian culture but also to hold the clews of our history.Everything develops for four steps ; producing , evolution ,mature and decline ;The MMC is not an exception , either. So in this article I will introduce the history of MMC in four stages. MMC first came into being in the memorial ceremony for Confucious and was established in Jin Dynasty for the emergence of criterion for memorizing Confucious; From then MMC was enriched and perfected constantly; during the period of NanBei the lyric only using in memorizing Confucious appeared and all the following dynasty wrote their own lyric; In Qing Dynasty MMC was perfected not only for its value in music but also for its value in literature ,ceremony etc.; Finally MMC declined in The Republic of China.After researching the history of MMC, I introduce the criterion ,lyric ,musical instruments , dance , opern and the actors in the memorial for Confucious .They are all important in MMC researching for their musical value and historical value .This research does not stop in sorting out the old researches , but does further research in three dimensions ; when did the lyric only using in memorizing Confucious appear? The value of the opern wrote by Kong Shangren and actuality of MMC .In the end ,I conclude my article with the right attitude we should hold when facing MMC----"grabbing the elites , discarding the defects".
