With the increasingly serious environment problems today, the sustainable development is the strategy and theory of world economic development and environmental protection, which is widely accepted currently. However, the environmental problem is based on education. The environment ethical education is the important way for setting up the environment world outlook of contemporary students in the cultivation, and the inevitable demands for promoting the coordination and sustainable development for the society, economy, culture, and ecological environment in China. The environment ethical education is important guarantee and the effective measures of protecting and improving the ecological environment in the process of economic development in our country. Moreover, the environment ethical education is also one of the important contents in applied ethics for the research and practice. Thus, this paper chooses the present situation of the environment ethical education for the research, which is of the important theoretical and practical significance.Through the combination between the logical analysis and the comparative analysis methodology. this paper illustrates the importance'and urgency of the environment ethical education for the environmental issues today, with the analysis on the important role in the environmental education for the environmental awareness, environmental attitude and environmental behavior. The root of the problems as well as the corresponding solutions and the countermeasure are discovered, based on the comparison between the differences in the environment ethical education in Taiwan and mainland of China, which will provide the basis for the better solution of environmental problems in mainland of China and enable to make progress in the environmental education with the proper contributions to the environmental protection correspondingly.The key point of this study is to compare the environment ethical education in mainland of China with the counterpart in Taiwan. Firstly, this study is to compare the environmental ethical education in mainland of China with the counterpart in Taiwan for the contents, with the discovery of lack of the ethical principles in mainland of China for the environmental ethical education and the contents combined with the native places. In the educational goals and means, the mainland elementary and middle schools emphasize the educational goals for the knowledge instruction and the stereotypical sole in the educational form and method, while the Taiwan elementary and middle schools stress on the educational goals for the combination for the knowledge, the sentiment, the ideas and behavior with the educational form and method of adapting to the characteristics accepted by the students physically and mentally.Secondly, this paper compares the contents of environmental ethical education of universities in the mainland with the counterparts in Taiwan, with the discovery that in mainland of China, it has not the well-acknowledged curriculum of environmental ethical education, with the shortage of the native awareness on the contents of environmental ethics. However, in Taiwan, it takes European and American environment philosophy as an elementary theory for the construction of the environment ethical education system, insisting on the objective for the practical behavior and environmental concern associated with the global ethics and the emphasis on carrying out the environment value of vegetable native places and advocating for undertaking the environmental responsibility for the pubic participation. In the goals, forms and methods of environmental education, there is a more significant gap between Taiwan and mainland of China. Compared to the mainland, in Taiwan the environment ethical education is carried out earlier with more advance experiences for the reference. Therefore, coupled with Taiwan and mainland of China belonging to the same culture, the above research conclusion has the important inspiring significance to the development of environmental ethical education in mainland of China.
