Nanjing Dialect

The rich modal particles is one of the big characters in chinese, while it also plays an important role in dialect.It is a main means for people to express their emotions in daily life.The province'spolitical, economic, cultural and transport center. Nanjing located in the area of Mandarin dialect. Compered to common character of Mandarin, the modal particles in Nanjing dialect shows its own character,which provide us with special research value.In this thesis, based on the results of previous atudies, we give a descriptive analysis of the twenty-five modal particles in Nanjing dialect, and then, summarizes some characteristics of these modal particles. We mainly use daily spoken language to summarize the system of the modal particles in Nanjing dialect by studing its function and pursuing the full description and the synthesis comparison on the basis of synchronic plane.This thesis is divided into four parts:Part one is the introduction, which briefly introduces the geography, division and history of Nanjing, and then,the basic features of Nanjing dialect. Then presents the history of modal particles in Nanjing dialect and the possibility of the new study, explains the modal particles of the theoretical issues. In addition, it explains the study object, the source of materials and the study methods.Part two is about the classification of the modal particles in Nanjing dialect.Part three trying to build the system of modal particles in the Nanjing dialect. Including the basic form, the features, and the grammar characteristics.Part four is Conclusion. We indicate the necessary of criterion of using modal particles in Nanjing dialect.
