Teacher's professional development plays an important role in the education of our country. As in the field of English teaching, teachers'quality is the key factor in improving the teaching level in our country. Therefore, getting a general understanding of English teachers'teaching belief and their teaching knowledge base really matters a lot. Meanwhile, the main approaches to developing themselves can also be not neglected.With these questions in mind, the author of this thesis conducted a research upon College English teachers in College English Department of Qingdao University in the form of questionnaires. After that, a deep interview was carried out among the three participants in different developing stages. This research was designed to investigate and seek the answers to the following three questions:-What are the College English teachers'beliefs?-What is their teaching knowledge base they have so far?-What approaches do they often adopt in their learning?The findings of this thesis can contribute to the development of College English teachers.
