In the hundred years of Protestant in china, the Christian literature work has always been the focus of missionary work. The literature work and the Gospel are closely linked. Using the power of the literature work, the missionaries publish the books and Bible to spread the Protestant. For the Christian literature work itself, in addition to the significance of the dissemination of science or the literature, it is a cultural exchange and conversion. The Christian literature work results a direct response to the missionary writer and the church's understanding of cultural or civilization, but also to respond to the needs of the time.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter, from Griffith John's childhood, school and church's life, to describe his experience and the theological training before in China; the second chapter, it intrudes the choice of strategy of Griffith John, by establishing a mission station, to the designated rooting manner of missionary activists; the third chapter, taking the example of building the Hankow Religious Tract Society to publish the religious books and translate the Bile, it examines the spread situation of the mission.; The fourth chapter, through Griffith John's literature work, it reveals the influence of the entire Hankow, Wuhan and central China.Years1861-1911as the background, to show an overview of the Christian literature work of Griffith John. It helps us to understand the mission of development in Hankow, or Wuhan, and even the entire region of central China. And form the side of literature work, to understand the situation of missionary of Central China.
