This essay explores the Zhenwu belief of the Jingzhou region in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The Zhenwu belief is an important part of Taoism.Through the historical method, this essay is under the jurisdiction of counties in Jingzhou region during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.What purpose is to study the origins and impacts about the rise of Zhenwu belief. Jingzhou has always been a tradition of worshipping Taoism,and the territory of WuFeng is prevailed.Besides,the floods and droughts are so frequent that people have to seek the immortals' bless. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, because of the respect of royal family,the advocation of Prince and the support of the public, the faith of Zhenwu made a big breakthrough. Go into the Qing Dynasty, although the Zhenwu faith of Jingzhou was fading compared with the past, the large-scale of pilgrimage still existed.After the foundation of the PRC, as the representative of Jingzhou Zhenwu belief, the Taihui view was destroyed.Not untill the2005with the rehabilitation of Temples,did the incense prosper. Zhenwu belief in Jingzhou has been a continuation,at present, there are over two hundred Zhenwu incenses are engaged in activities such as pilgrim in Jingzhou. Zhenwu belief in Jingzhou region is far-reaching, which is mainly about the worship of the Zhenwu Temples, the prevalence of pilgrim, and the popular legends of Zhenwu. At the present stage, the protection of cultural heritage should not only protect existing and visible buildings of the intangible cultural heritage, but also protect the folk belief around the formation.
