Ailing 1940s Novels In The Public World

The life of Zhang ailing is a kind of legend. As her life and her story can not be reproduced, her works is something unique. Although her work passed in Shanghai like a flash in a pan in two years, studying on her work have been lived. In this paper, I briefly used closed reading and mutually analyzing illumination from her essay and novels to explain her work of 1943——1945 which focus on the figures social life. The figures social life is belong to the urbanize literature so I put the work of Zhang ailing into the whole urbanize literature in Shanghai. That can help us to find the distinctive of Zhang airing's work and define her unique contribution for Shanghai Literature even the whole country's literature.For the reading of the citizen social life I try to design three chapters:The first part is about the special origin and experience of Zhang ailing, which can be see a reason for Zhang airing's choose to citizen life as well as her realization of citizen spirit. Other more, it is also about the war time influence on Zhang airing's attitude and technique of expression for novels. Because the work of Zhang ailing has strong sense of individual and sensitive, this chapter is divided into two parts to help us to learn why Zhang ailing loves to write the social common life and how she deals with this theme. Meantime, that will make clear the problem that Zhang airing's work seems a little limited.The second chapter is the most but the hardest part of this paper. I talk about her social life from three aspects:the outlook of existence, the sense of worth and the outlook of marriage and love. First, when I try to study the outlook of existence,1 would like to see a formal existence rules for common life in her work——live today. But this rule is not so apparent in her novel figure and plot as in her essay. Exactly it is some kind of common angle of view. In her essay we can find her attitude for life and time. Live today, is Zhang airing's ideal of existence and also the others rules. However, she doesn't belong to neither citizen class. When we see her rule in her novel work, we get sense of desolate only. So it is hard to combine the novel with her rule. Besides, the sense of worth and the outlook of marriage and love are mutually influenced. Marriage, to some extend, reflects peoples chose and vice versa. So it will have some repeated ideas. I will try to make it by the different figures. Last, I want to summarize the unique contribution of Zhang ailing and stress her different from the work of 1920th to 1940th in common life, deeply care for human nature and women view critics. Of course, the contribution of Zhang ailing is far more than this. I just talk about her mainly feature and achievement.The third chapter is about enlightenment of Zhang ailing'work to 1980th and 1990th in Shanghai. I analyze how her view of legend and common life of her 1930th and 1940th novels would influence Shanghai writers who live in 1980th and 1990th.
