As the translation of foreign fiction reached its peak ,Charlotte Bronte's novel——"Jane Eyre" was also introduced to China in the 1930s.From then on, Chinese readers have concerned themselves with it. Although "Jane Eyre" has been around for a hundred years and has been studied a lot since by our predecessors, Chinese readers are now still re-deconstructing the conclusions based on those old studies to expect to find new meaning of it. Why is there still a study boom? This paper intends to make a reasonable answer.This paper tries to study this fiction not only from the Chinese people's receptive psychology and other aspects of traditional culture but also from the perspective of receptive aesthetic ,and to further explore the social and aesthetic reasons in depth why "Jane Eyre " has been so popular in China from two specific perspectives of literary text and readers reception. Specifically, the article discusses as follows:The first part is an overview of the whole, outlines the spread and reception history of "Jane Eyre" in China in four different periods: the reception of Chinese readers prior to 1949; the reception of Chinese readers between 1949 and 1966; the reception of Chinese readers in the period of"the culture revolution"; the reception of Chinese readers subsequent to"the culture revolution". The second part of the article is arranged from the perspective of literary text in the horizon of receptive aesthetic .This chapter describes the aesthetic appeal of "Jane Eyre ": pursues to true, the good and the beautiful yearning ; the spirit exploration of"equality, independent, freedom"; the unique writing skills-the application of the art of terror and the suspense tactics.The third part of the article starts the analyses from the perspective of readers. reception in the horizon of receptive aesthetic. This chapter discusses the deep philosophical and aesthetic reasons why "Jane Eyre ".has been so popular in China: the expectation and desire of perfect personality; the basis of traditional Chinese philosophy and culture; looking forward to real life experience.As above, the charm of Charlotte Bronte remains as before .Her "Jane Eyre" has become a classic work and will continue to be admired greatly by the following generations.
