Music image, the term was used frequently at the current theory field. At the earliest, the term was extended from the concept of Art Image. Robert Schumann first mentioned the term when he reviewed Hector Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique in 1853. Music image is from thinking in image of composers, and it is based on the relationship between tone and the sound of instrument, and is to present the sounder's form of some objects, and to reflect a comprehensive, integrated phenomenon on the main part. Hardly any work doesn't exist music image, except Pure Music. It is our one of the essential factors to understand and to learn the content of the music. Moreover a successful work cannot be apart from accurate and vivid images which are created in the works. The creation of the music image cannot be separate from the influence of literary background, language and other factors, and even more cannot be separate from western composition techniques and some expressive meaning of musical languages, they are the critical'bridge'to create music image in the composition. It especially appears in some instrument compositions.Robert Schumann is a typical representative of the Romantic period. As a master composer, he produces many multi-genre works. Especially in the field of his piano works, he raised the piano pieces to an unprecedented height. He put many individual ditty connect with each other, just like the form of Schubert's vocal music divertimento, and to form a unified whole. Most of these divertimentos with a title in the works, and they all have a vivid image. The creation of these images is mostly reflected by Western composition techniques as the main "bridge". This paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter mainly elaborates the music image and the ways and"bridge"to create the image. The second chapter is the factors of influencing the creation of music image in Schumann's piano pieces. The third chapter which is the important part in this paper takes the Schumann's three piano pieces divertimento "Butterfly", "Carnival" and "Fantasy Collection"as examples, by the main line of the western composition techniques, respectively from harmony, modal tonality, rhythm, melody and other aspects to one-by-one, deeply analyze and demonstrate the music images which appear in the three works. In the process of analysis and demonstration, it illustrates how to create music images by the composition techniques through the combination of the texts and scores.
