Analysis And Studies On The Piano Cycle Kinderscenen Of Robert Schumann

Schumann's piano cycle is the most outstanding achievement in his musical career. In the 19th when the piano simple literary prevailled, he is the first one who composed a integral artistical whole——cycle with related ditties. These cycles always have a romantic, appealing topic which makes the content and artistry centralized and improved. In the numerous piano cycle of Schumann, the Kinderscenen is the most influenced one. During my pianism of this immortal work and the related material, I feel it is worthwhile and meaningful to discuss and research the Kinderscenen more deeply. Therefore, I choose this task as my thesis topic of master degree. There are four parts in my thesis. First of all, some related knowledge of Kinderscenen's background will be offered to support a frame about its spirit and source of feeling. In the second part, I will concrete analyze the key points of pianism and the form with my understanding and experience. Then the programmatic research which includes the characters of Schumann's works and the comparison with some other important composers will be given. At last, the musical aesthetics think will be expounded in the fourth part.
