The Miao Folk Runqiang

The Miao nationality has undergone great sufferings in the history, but they inherit the rich and unique artistic traditions and create splendid artistic culture. The Miao people in Xiangxi enjoy singing so much that everyone can sing Miao Folk Songs. They are good at expressing their aspirations and thoughts with songs in productive labor and social life. Singing Miao Folk Songs is one of the main forms of communication in their daily life. Miao Folk Songs are endowed with extraordinary ethnic significance and cultural connotations. They have important position and function in the history and culture of Miao nationality. Accumulated over a long period and passed down through the generations, Xiangxi Miao Folk Songs have formed plentiful folksong Runqiang techniques.This thesis introduces the Xiangxi Miao Folk Songs, classifies them by content and form, and analyzes their basic characteristics. Integrated with the knowledge of sound production function, the author makes detailed and comprehensive analysis of Runqiang techniques. According to the exploitation of language and techniques of singing and vocalization, the author summarizes the characteristics of Runqiang, hoping to give a reference for the singing of Xiangxi Miao Folk Songs. Meanwhile, through further examination of the cultural values of Xiangxi Miao Folk Songs from the perspective of musical culture and historical culture, the author tries to extend our research perspectives, hoping to make a little contribution to the inheritance of Minority vocality cultural heritage, as well as the enrichment and development of our Chinese modern national vocality culture.
