Suide Yangko generated from northern Shaanxi, and has close relationship with the beliefs, customs, character and emotion of the local people. With the modification and creation of the masses and artistes, its contents was become more abundance and completion. It has become an indispensable traditional folklore dance activities in festival. In this article, the author described in detail about the historical origins, performance characteristics, social function, development and protected of Suide Yangko, to make people aware and understand this art, and then to protect this intangible cultural heritage. This article is divided into5parts:Part1:This part describes the purpose of study Suide Yangko. This part was to investigate the historical context of economic development, the local social and cultural background in Northern Shaanxi. It could reveal the history, culture, folklore and other aspects in that history stage, in order to further inheritance and carry forward the national arts, even to build Suide Yangko as a brand of Shaanxi folk Art, to expand the influence of the Shaanxi.Part2:Described the historical development of Suide Yangko. The Suide Yangko originate in Nuo ritual in Shang dynasty, enlightened in sacrifice of Zhou dynasty, generated from civil society fire of Song dynasty. Then, it built basic style in Ming and Qing dynasty. With the influence of Yanan new yangko movement, the Suide Yangko has developed deeply. Now, the Suide Yangko has become a very popular dance art in squares.Part3:This part describes the development status of Suide Yangko. Suide Yangko has been classified according to different performance purposes, such as:Temple fair Yangko, Constellation Yangko, traditional old Yangko and new Yangko. Suide Yangko could also be classified as large field Yangko and small field Yangko, according to different performances scale. Then, the social functions of Suide Yangko were mentioned in this part.Part4:The performance characteristics of Suide Yangko were described in this part. First, Suide Yangko could divides by its base movements:"twisting","pendulum" and "walk". The part of article combination these base movements to analysis the unique rhythm and beauty of Suide Yangko. Second, Suide Yangko could divide by personas. We analysis the different styles, positions and effect between different personas. Third, we take Tichangzi as an example, described the different provincialism and folk style of Suide Yangko. Last, we analysis the dresses and properties of Suide Yangko, extract symbol means in this art.Part5:This part describes the protection and development of Suide Yangko. The author put forward a series of protective objectives, contents and measures. Then, the author writes a bold outlook about the development of this art, and hope to play an active role in the heritage of Suide Yangko.
