The epics of Homer and Hesiod are the earliest religion classics of ancient Greek, and Hesiod's Theogony is the only intact theogony poem until now, it is the first poem which narrated the theogony of gods, so it is more systemic than Homer's epics. Based on the text of Theogony, this paper attempt to discuss what is "the will of Zeus" and how to make it come true, and also refines the theodicy of Theogony, analysis how does Zeus legislate for gods and men, Mortals how to get the honor, and the relationship between work and justice. There are three parts in this thesis. The chapter one gives a general overview of the Theogony. First introduce the life and the poems of Hesiod, especially analysis Hesiod's poet capacity; and then analysis the position and the status of Theogony in the poems of Hesiod; at last analysis the narration and structure of Theogony. Though the length of Theogony is not too long, it's structure is very artful and complicated. In this way, we can grasp the macro Theogony. Not only in favor of understand poet's intention, but also helpful to understand the specific details of the text. The chapter two is the core part of the thesis. I explained the five parts of the texts carefully, which "the will of Zeus" appeared:the goddess Hecate in the front of Zeus'"birth"; Zeus'"birth"; Prometheus Myth after Zeus'"birth"; Zeus imprisoned Titans; the story of Medea and Jason. I will annotate the text word for word, compare the different translation versions, and try to explore what "the will of Zeus" is and how to make it come true. Precisely through the analysis of the original Greek, peruse and ease of the specific line of poetry, we find the poet in the deceptively simple narrative, in fact, contains a very rich and full of mean intrinsic, making the process of reading and understanding are not only full of fun, but also very teachable. The chapter three is the refinement and expansion of the chapter two. In this chapter, according to the different topics I tidy up and generalize the text again. First of all analysis how does Zeus legislate for gods and men, and which laws does Zeus legislate; and then explore how to make the glory of mortal men come true, and how many possibilities can be achieved; at last discuss the relationship of the work and justice. For us, we use the poet's immortal writing, not only obtain the knowledge and understanding of the law of God, but also take cognizance of the human's condition and lifestyle, if we don't understand the order in divine world, we would not recognize the order in the human world. The conclusion of the thesis is:"the will of Zeus" is just getting and consolidating his kingship, determining the rules and assigning glories for gods again, molding the order of race of gods, and also establishing the Diversity-orderly Structure between gods and men, molding the way of men's life (polity), at last become "the father of gods and men", make the worlds of gods and men run according to the orders formulated by him. Men should comply with wise kings, listen to the great words of poets, reverent to the gods and act according to laws, work hard, keep on the justice, and comply with destiny. Only in this way can we get the aegis and blessing of gods.
