From the Spring and Autumn Period, Confucianism had formed their own unique tradition, and one of the most important fundamental significance is a cultivation practice of body and mind, which is named "Weiji" by Confucius, and then it's inherited by school of Zisi-Mencius and developed. After the Song and Ming Confucianism, especially the Lu Wang Xin Xue has brought into full play and expanded, Wang Yang ming is the master in this field. He believes that the body and mind in human bemg's body is the existence of the unified nature, and body and mind must not be separated to two parts. The antagonistic confrontation between body and mind is conflict in the integration and overall penetration in the contradictory. All of this will finally be reflected in human's consciousness, thus, the key to personal body and mind cultivation lies in the human's consciousness. On the base of this idea, human being should adjust selves continuously, from human being's real heart (emotional desire) to the Tao (justice conscience). From this point of view, the question of relationship between body and mind transforms into a question of purely spirit. As a result, during the process of moral practice of people inner's body and mind cultivation, the human conscience is "to know",which is a process that the heart realizes and the individual's inner self perceives the change of mind. At the same time, it's the the implementation process of individual's free will in practice. This is just the purpose of the paper. Wang Yangming's theory about the relationship between body and mind, on the other hand, as a typical theoretical system and ideological thmsts with Chinese traditional thinking color,its answers, for the questions of great historical turning point and milestone in the ancient times to the formation of a variety of Western philosophy, are full of quite inspired by the meaning and value. |
