As the development of the world economic and trade, the developing countries'economicand trade activities have become increasingly frequent, the status of the developing countries inthe world economy has improved quickly. After 30 years of reform and opening-up,China--thelargest developing country,has achieved a remarkable success . At present, China hasoutstripped Germany and Japan to become the second economic power just after the UnitedStates. In trade development process, there must be many kinds of economic frictions, how toeffectively solve these frictions is a difficult problem for all of the countries, particularly fordeveloping countries. The World Trade Organization (WTO in abbreviation) has 153 membersnow, and the Dispute Settlement Mechanism which is the core of the WTO, has made anoutstanding contribution for the world trade dispute solution. Since the establishment of theWTO, the WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism handled 418 pieces of case, it is really exciting.More than 2/3 of the members are the developing country members in WTO, but its participationand use of WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism is not congruent with the membershipnumbers .The reasons are as following, First is due to the developing members's relatively weakcomprehensive national strength, and limit by their ability while participating in the WTODispute Settlement Mechanism in the process of solving disputes, it is hard for the developingcountry members do a job with skill and ease as the developed country members; Secondly, theWTO's dispute settlement mechanism itself exists defects in various, to a certain extent, thoselimit the developing country members effectivly use it to safeguard their own rightsang intrests;Once again, though there are some special and preferential terms which are good for thedeveloping country members, unfortunately, there are only a few of real effective terms.This paper will start from the developing prosess of the Dispute Settlement Mechanism,combining with the history and status quo of the developing country members participate in theWTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism, by analysising the typical cases which are participated inby the typical developing member, trying to find some existing problems in the process of thedeveloping country members participate in WTO dispute settlement mechanism, and puts forward to some suggestions that are good for the developing country members to participate anduse the WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism.
