European Immigration Policy Integration Studies

With the globalization, the movement of people, goods and capital have been pushed in the world.It provides not only the exchange and cooperation in the fields of politics, economics and culture, but also unprecedented challenges to human being.After World WarⅡ, the EU gradually changed from the traditional migration source region to immigration destination region. The arrival and settlement of the large of number of immigrants challenges the former policies of economy, social welfare and immigration of European countries. Since the 70s of last century, European countries began to try to establish a unified immigration policy.After several decades of development; the EU has set up a basic framework on common EU immigration policy. Comparing with the improved economic integration, the integration of EU immigration policy late started. And also because of the constraints of decision-making mechanisms in EU and the different governance model between member states, the process of integration of European immigration policy is difficult.This paper starts from the generation of EU common immigration policy integration policy, and then summarizes the immigration policy of major European countries and the impact on the process of EU common immigration policy in the present international politics. Emphasis will be put on the restriction of the EU integration politics, and then we indicate that the important role of building "European identity" to the European integration of the development of immigration policy.
