At the late period of Qing dynasty, because of the construction of the new system based on the unequal treaties, from the western world poured into the territory of the empire the goods, the new tecnics, the art of exerciting the army, the laws etc., Therefore the religion of Christianity, which once was oppressed heavily in China, also experienced a evangelical resurrection. Different from the situations of the Ming Dynasty, at the time of late Qing Dynasty the Christianity was prevalently hated and boycotted by the ordinary citizens, the continuing conflicts forged the soil of turbulance and revolts. Always reduced to a dilemma when the officials tried to solve these conflicts using the Code of Qing Dynasty. The author of this paper chose this Zhou Han case, which was happened during 1890s, for the purpose of finding out some common characteristics of such so-called anti-Christianity cases.This paper consists of the introduction, the text and the conclusion. The text consists of three parts.The first part reports the brief progress of the entire case. At the beginning of 1890s, the anti-Christianity revolt of Yangtze River made the missionaries and western diplomats believe that behind the mobs it must have been some important gentlemen or even officials to manoeuvre such violents, they focused their suspicions on a Chinese gentlemen named Zhou Han, inhabited at Changsha. After the sentence of Zhang Zhidong and Chen Baozhen, Zhou Han was sentenced in jail. The second part discusses some problems in the process juridical. The author quoted 4 questions, which not only reflect some common features of solving these kind of cases, but also indicate some profound defects of Chinese Juridical System.The third part intents to discuss the relationship between the theme of the conflict of cultures and that between the law and the right of free faith. The only solution is to construct a law which concedes the right of free faith to the people.The conclusion gives a brief recalling of the whole article.
