The Religious Criticism Theory is not the main issue in Marx's lifelong research, while the Marxism started from the criticism of religion and politics, and its great impact of that theory could be said to be remarkable. Our country is making efforts to build the Socialist Harmonious Society. The contents of this thesis are about the meanings of Marx's religious criticism and the contemporary values of that in the process of building the Harmonious Society.This paper takes the dialectical materialism and historical materialism as guidance. The first part of the paper states the Marxist religious criticism theory, focusing on the origin, the forming process and the connotation of the theory. The origin is discussed from three parts: the rationalism and empiricism, Hegel religious critical theory and young Hegelians. The three parts are indispensible from the formation of Marxist religious criticism theory. The formation of Marxist religious criticism theory experienced three periods: insisting on theism, separating from theism, believing in materialism atheism. Marx, in his early years, was a staunch theist while he got a change in his outlook on religion during his college days. He began to abandon theism. The theoretical foundation of Marx religious criticism is Hegel's idealism philosophy; however, his theory has been in line with atheism.When Marx put his theory into practice, he's religious thought thoroughly changed, and formed the religious criticism theory based on the historical materialism. His religious criticism ideology is stated and analyzed in details in his articles, such as On the Jewish Question, The Introduction to The Criticism of Hegel's Law Philosophy. The second part of this article analyzed the time difference and divergences between Chinese and western countries of the religious criticism, elaborated the present situation of Chinese religions, explained we should interpret the present value of Marx's religious criticism theory and combine it with Chinese national condition. The third part explained Marx's religious criticism's the general conduction to the harmonious construction of Chinese religions, pointed out the nonsubstitutable importance of Marx's religious criticism under the new historical situation, and further analyzed the main stream of the development of Chinese religious is to positively conduct the adaptation of religion and the harmonious society. The last part of the article put forward questions to think about from four aspects, which are from the angle of the party and the government, the angle of religion itself, the angle of the disciples, and the angle of religion researchers.
