Machiavelli is the great statesman in The Renaissance; he exactly lived in theturning point time from the ending stage of Europe feudal society to the forming stageof Capitalism. In the social transition period, and facing the Italy domestic chaoticpolitical situation at the same time, Machiavelli devoted himself to the Republic ofFlorence with patriotic enthusiasm.The author research and investigation From Machiavelli's two major works.Afterthe restoration of the Medici family, Machiavelli still wanted to contribute to thereunification of Italy; therefore, he wrote the book "Monarchy", a book dedicated tothe Medici family with the hope to get their favor, but not succeeded. Meanwhile,with appreciation of the Republic system, he wrote the book "Livy", which reviewedthe perfect Republic System of the Rome Republic, to express his longing andyeaning in the Republicanism.The two book are widely criticized from its publication to the present day for thereason that in the "Monarchy", a book on how to establish governance, Professor,Andin the governance process of how cruel,Not good,Using their own advantages,Heshould be steady and etc.. The "Livy" discussed the advantages and disadvantages ofthe Republicanism in the form of historical records. In these two books, legal thoughand not the main theme, by the way of carefully studying and systematic summarizing,the Machiavelli's expression of legal thought lies in the books is announced.This paper is divided into four parts,The first part introduces the historicalbackground and the writings of Machiavelli.In the second part, first fromMachiavelli's philosophy basis for research,On philosophical foundation get the evilof human nature and reality.therefor,To further explore the third part.On philosophicalfoundation get the evil of human nature and reality.Researching Machiavelli for thelegal view.Thus,To summarize Machiavelli's sovereign and independent state,TheArmy Security state,The rule of law,Legal norms,Everyone is equal before the law,The stability of the law,The separation of church and state,The monarchyRepublican debateLegal thought. The fourth part elaborates the effect and significanceof legal thought.
