Research On Student Affairs Professional Development

With the increasing demand on the talents along with the high speed development of the society, purely theoretical talents who were trained by traditional education become inadaptable to the requirements of social development. Cultivating college and university students' all-round development to provide a powerful talent guarantee for national development and revitalization is an important topic in the field of higher education today which we must discuss and solve. Under the background of higher education development today, we can realize college and university students' all-round development by student affairs professional to strengthen action of student affairs in higher education, so as to give more support for college and university students' all-round development. At the present time we have gained some achievement in the field of student affairs professional by creating full-time counselor career, by researching in the student affairs field, by establishing student affairs personnel selecting and appointing criterion criteria, by publishing student affairs' professional academic journal and monographs. But the achievement of student affairs professional is only in its infancy, the achievement is still unable to meet the needs of realize college and university students'all-round development, so we can promote student affairs professional development by set up a high level student affairs field and form a high level student affairs team to raise the effect of student affairs and bring the important role of student affairs to support realize college and university students'all-round development into full play.But there are some problems to promote student affairs professional development at the present time, include student affairs sense lags behind; student affairs' ideological and political function become weak; student affairs subject construction lags behind; student affairs team frosting need to deepen; student affairs operating mechanism need to be perfected; institutional research of student affairs lags behind. These problems limit student affairs professional development and the function of student affairs, restricts the function of student affairs in promote university students'all-round development. In this case, we need to promote student affairs professional development in order to solve problems in the student affairs professional and raise the effect of student affairs. Measures to solve above-mentioned problems, we need to promote student affairs professional development by establishing new concept of student affairs; strengthen student affairs' ideological and political function; strengthen the subject construction; deepen student affairs team frost; perfect student affairs operating mechanism; strengthen student affairs' institutional research. The six measures mainly include the following aspects:1) in establishing new concept of student affairs aspect to provide sense guide, we need to establish new concept of student affairs professional development concept, establish new concept of student affairs is as important as teaching work concept, establish new concept of student affairs academic orientation concept; establish new concept of student affairs classroom education concept; establish new concept of student affairs service concept; 2) we need to strengthen student affairs' ideological and political function to promote student affairs professional development by develop comparative advantage between student affairs' ideological and political function and classroom education to the full; 3) in strengthen the subject construction aspect, we need to deepen student affairs' academic research, construct student affairs' academic research team, public student affairs' professional academic journal and construct student affairs' professional organizations to laid the subject groundwork for student affairs professional development; 4) in deepen student affairs team frost aspect, we need to build a rigorous student affairs personnel selecting and appointing criterion, strengthen student affairs vocational training and degree training to provide talent supporting for student affairs professional development; 5) in perfect student affairs operating mechanism aspect, we need to redraw counselor' scope of official duty to perfect student affairs operating mechanism in order to provide mechanism support; 6) in student affairs' institutional research respect, we need to set up student affairs' professional institutional research organization in the university, set up professional information store for student affairs professional development and provide policy making reference for student affairs professional development to provide institutional research support.
