As China enters a new stage of high-quality development in higher education,the talent structure needs to adapt to it.The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposes to accelerate the construction of an educational powerhouse,and use the spiritual lineage of the centenary Party to serve the construction of a new pattern of moral education and talent cultivation in the new era.Ideological and political education is one of the excellent traditions and political advantages of the Party.In the context of the popularization of higher education in China at the current stage,exploring how to cultivate new generations who bear the responsibility of national rejuvenation is related to the development of the Party and the country’s cause,as well as the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Therefore,this article selects university counselors as the backbone of ideological and political education in universities as the research object,and uses the "field theory" in sociology as the research model.By analyzing the professional development of university counselors,it explores the quality of life of university counselors in the "academic field" and "educational field",and answers the connotation of the professional development of university counselors Exploring the practical difficulties and causes faced by the professional development of college counselors,and exploring the practical path for the professional development of college counselors.This article is divided into the following five parts:Part One: Introduction.The introduction section mainly introduces the origin,significance,and related concepts of the research,and summarizes the existing research results to clarify the research ideas of this article and lay the foundation for subsequent research.Part Two: Theoretical basis.From the perspective of Bourdieu’s field theory,the position of university counselors within universities is analyzed.Based on the three core elements of "field","habit",and "capital" in this theory,as well as the work content,service objects,and work time and space of university counselors,the university community is divided into two sub fields: "learning field" and "education field".The position structure and resource endowment of university counselors in these two sub fields are analyzed separately.This section analyzes the relevance of field theory to the professional development of college counselors,and clarifies the logical approach of field theory as the theoretical framework of this study.Part Three: Current Situation Investigation.Taking individual college counselors,college student groups,and university management as objects,through questionnaires and interviews,this study analyzes the professional development status of college counselors in the academic and educational fields from 11 aspects: their research cognition,research ability,research investment,research achievements,research support,educational philosophy,knowledge literacy,job responsibilities,development mechanisms,job evaluation,and professional development needs,Provide empirical support for subsequent research.Part Four: Analysis of problems and causes.On the basis of investigation,summarize the practical problems faced by the professional development of college counselors,and use field theory to explore their causes.College counselors are not only marginal individuals in the academic field,but also permanent motivators in the field of education.This study attributes the bottlenecks in the professional development of counselors from three levels: individual counselors,counselor teams,and universities.It explores the reasons for unclear goals,structural pressure,and lack of subjectivity in the professional development of college counselors from the perspectives of field struggle,capital imbalance,and habitual alienation.Part Five: Countermeasures and suggestions.Realizing the professional development of college counselors and enabling them to play a greater role in both the academic and educational fields is a systematic and complex project.This research still responds to the problems of field building,capital accumulation and habit remodeling in the professional development of college counselors from three aspects:colleges and universities,counselor teams and individual counselors,and puts forward concrete and feasible suggestions on how to strengthen the implementation of policies in colleges and universities,how to optimize the working mechanism of counselor teams,and how to give play to the subjective initiative of individual counselors,with a view to improving the professional level of college counselors,Enhance the effectiveness of academic research and educational services for college counselors,and provide new ideas for the professionalization,professionalization,and professionalization of China’s counselor team.
