Holistic education is one of the important educational genres in human history. She focuses on the theoretical study and practical exploration of all-round person and implements a full personality or harmonious personality education which can cultivate high morality, perfect intelligence, strong body. Regardless of in west or in China, Holistic education has shaped integrated and clear venation through lengthy historical development. The education circles called the aim what holistic education pursue to foster moral, intellectual, physical and other aspects sound harmonious development person and the view, faith what emphasizes human all-round, whole, balanced development as Holistic education idea.Because sports has obvious physical characteristic as a physical technique teaching by precept and example among people, it has destined that there is an indivisible relation between sports and education. From creating, holistic education idea has held inevitable effect to sports and this effect will accompany the development and extension of the idea. The article analyzed concrete theory and practical style of holistic education during different historical period from historical dimensionality and discussed her influence to the theory and practice of contemporary sports development in the same. Then, through making objective and sound evaluation about these effects to seek beneficial revelation for sports coming by holistic education in new historical period and hopes sports can come back her humanity essence and obtains harmonious development from referring the positive factors of holistic education idea.The thesis consists of sis parts. The first part is foreword that it points the intent and significance , makes summary about relative studies and introduces the mainly study objects and means of the thesis. The second part studies and discusses the content of western and Chinese traditional holistic education idea and the effects for sports development. The third part summarizes the fruits of the development of holistic education and the relation with sports in modern times and the present age all over the world. The forth part is established in the previous studies to do an objectives assessment about the important effects from holistic education idea to sports. The fifth part offers the puzzledom appearing in current Chinese sports development and attempts to quest new thinking of sports development by referring the positive function of holistic education idea. The sixth part reaches the conclusion that holistic education idea has particularly theoretical and practical value; and the fine development of sport should be actively absorb nutrients in the holistic education to train full knowledge of structure, positive values, positive attitudes, healthy body and healthy personality development of talent for society and improves her self-improvement in the same time.
