| Listening teaching is an important area in Senior High School English teaching. In order to enhance the understanding and quality of listening teaching, this study explores the theoretical basis of effective teaching, listening comprehension as well as listening teaching, in the hope of finding effective listening teaching models from the following three aspects:effective design of listening tasks, effective instruction of listening strategy and effective evaluation of listening outcome.Action research on effective listening teaching in senior high school has three stages. Before the action research, by interviewing grade three students in a senior high school of Nanjing, the research aim has been set, which is to explore effective listening teaching models from listening activities, strategies and evaluations. Experiment data has been collected mainly through questionnaires, interviews as well as listening test results. By comparing data before and after action research, conclusion that students have been improved in areas of learning attitudes, methods, listening strategies and test results has been made; then, suggestions on effective listening teaching in senior high school have been proposed at the end of the paper.Overall, the research of effective listening teaching in senior high school sees action research as its core. The innovative parts of this action research lie in designing context-based activities, imparting listening strategies and evaluating listening teaching outcome in a reliable way. |
