Questioning plays the main part in classroom teaching. It is an important medium to stimulate the students' learning interest and activate their thinking. It can also help the teachers and students share the information. The research mainly focuses on the questioning discourse of the English teachers in the classroom and takes three excellent English lessons in the Senior High School in Changzhou as the samples. It analyzes several aspects of English teachers' questioning and some problems that exist. Finally, the researcher puts forward some principles in the hope that English teachers will adopt them to classroom to make their questioning effective and the classroom more lively and efficient.The result of the research shows that the excellent teachers can apply these principles to their teaching. Through rewriting the three teachers' questioning discourse, the researcher mainly comes up with three conclusions:The number of the display questions is much larger than that of the reference questions; The teacher's feedback discourse mainly falls into four categories:simple praise,repetition,explanation and correction. Based on the exquisite analysis, the researcher proposes three major principles:being scientific,being equal and being flexible. |
