Yoga, which originates from ancient India, is an ancient technique of Indian self-cultivation, as well as a life science and a life philosophy. About 2000 years ago, yoga spread to china with Buddhism. In recent years, as a new method of physical training, it has spread widely around the world and has been recognized gradually by people. Since it focuses on harmony and balance, and it can lead human mind to Holy land with freedom and peace, yoga, as an art of living, becomes a recipe of heart treatment for busy modern people. By doing slow movement with great limits, yoga melts movements, breathing and meditation as a whole, adjusts psychological, physiological and morphological to achieve harmony of body and mind, which not only help to strengthen the body, but also better nurse people's inner world.In recent years, our country has paid great efforts to promote national fitness, organize and mobilize all citizens to participate in various sports for the sake of enhancing physical fitness and improving people's health. Among them, the yoga with its versatile function and colorful form, has been warmly welcomed by popular people, and then become a project with unique advantages among national fitness campaigns. By reason of yoga's infinitive in equipment and site and its appropriateness for different groups of people, as well as its internal and external function, it can alleviate negative physical and psychological effects caused by increasingly competitive modern society.In order to better use yoga this exercise to its ideal effect, this paper will mainly study the propagation strategy in People's athletic sports.This paper conducted a questionnaire survey among some health clubs, college groups and community residents in several cities, it systematically analyzes people's understanding of yoga, the number of participants, exercise time, frequency, and organizational forms and others on the basis of analyzed questionnaire. The results showed that people hold the affirmative attitude to the physical and recuperate efficacy of yoga. In the sample, 73.3% of people think that yoga has strong psychological adjustment function, 19.4% of people think that the role yoga played is general, or the level to exercise yoga is general, only 3.2% of the people think that the yoga neither build the body, nor regulate physiology and metal state and motion. 71.8% of people with the purpose of improving the physical quality and excluding psychological pressure as well as adjusting their body and mind. The sample also showed that the yoga practitioners can not have distinct time and frequency to exercise. In the sample, the total number of practitioners is relatively low, moreover, the number of female practitioners is higher than male practitioners. According to the results of questionnaire, this paper considers that it is feasible to spread the yoga in the People's athletic sports, and gives advice and strategies on the propagation form and ways.
