Service learning is a kind of brand-new teaching and scientific research education mode which proposed by America in the 1960s first. Because of its form, scale and content has diversity, creativity and practical, since it emerges,there is different degrees of application and implementation in the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore and China's Hong Kong and Taiwan regions. there is more advantages and implementing convenient in learning and applicating service learning in colleges and universities.In recent years, this innovative service learning education model has attracted more attention of experts and scholars with the impetus of deepening the reform of higher education.However, Becourse of the service learning education model appears later in our country, and we accepted it then began to study it later too.The current ,understanding of the education model is still very lacking, At the practical level the use even is little. Therefore, we need have a comprehensive and thorough knowledge and understanding to the model of American Colleges and Universities learning.This paper is generally divided into four parts.The first part introduces us the basic knowledge of Sevice Learning Theory by it's definition,it's theoretical origin, it's characteristics and it's comparison with the Community Service Theory. From those study, we can get a general idea of U.S. Service Learning Theory. The second part of the article is to further study the U.S. Sevice Learning Theory by thoroughly exploring it's specific implement principles, the detailed implement processes and the practical learning effection it takes to the college students.In the third part, the author begins to analyse our Chinese college student's Social Practice.In this part, the author analyses the Chinese Social Practice Theory from the theory's content, ways of implemention, characteristics, and the present developing situation and problems, and hence refers to a specific comparison with U.S.Sevice Learning theory.Based on the analysing of the first three parts, Futhermore, the author brings up her own opinion about how to advance our college student's social practice and how to enhance it's effectiveness.
