| In Junior Middle School mathematics, equation is one of the core contents. It is the emphasis of teaching and it is difficult to teach.China's nine-year compulsory education curriculum has reformed for 10 years. Teaching concept, curriculum content and so on have undergone tremendous changes. The teaching methods for junior middle school equation already become diverse. But the current research on teaching methods for equation emphasis largely on equation forming, but for the definition of equation, the concept of equation to be presented at junior middle school level, evaluation of different teaching material is a weak area in research. This situation is not beneficial to the improvement of the quality of junior middle school mathematics teaching.Based on different versions textbooks and related material from many different sources, and on the basis of literature, conversation with selected people, questionnaire survey of four main contents of equation in junior middle high school, (the principle and definition of equation, teaching equation, equation forming methods), relevant research was made in the following areas in order to make some improvement in a weak spot.The main conclusions are as follows:1.The understanding of junior high school students'for "sovling equation" is based on their understanding for'equation'.2.In most books, "the property of equation" cannot replace solving equation.3.The teaching methods in junior middle school equation should be standardized.4.Students thinking process is not consistent with equation forming methods, instead, it is consistent with the amount of exercises they do.Proposed suggestions are as follows:1. Equation in the junior middle school shouldn't be defined.2. Give up the current "property of equation". Use other methods to solve equation.3. Emphasis on equation solving and at the same time promote different solving methods.4. Train students in equation formation. At the same time, more drill and practices should be given to enhance students'experiences on forming and solving equation. |
