In the twenty-first century, the rapid development of science and technology promises a new era of intense competition, opportunities coexist with challenges. As a tool to discipline the increasingly widespread use of English, English writing plays an increasingly important role in the international exchange and cooperation. The level of English writing skill reflects the overall quality of students in English. However, as our country's school edition always takes serious English writing teaching insufficiently, people underestimate the significance of teaching writing. Therefore, writing has always been the weakness of a student and becomes the weak link of English teaching. How to raise student's English writing level is a question which each of our English educators must ponder.Started in the 1970s, the process-focused approach is based on the communication theory, focusing on the writing process and writing skills of students. This approach is of great help for students to understand their own writing process, offering adequate opportunities for students to develop their thinking ability. The author's writing viewpoint can be formed, developed, combined, modified, and revised in the writing process, until achieves the desired results. As the process writing can stir up a very good interaction between the students, there appear many "writing team" "cooperative writing" in the teaching of English writing in many countries. Although their names are different, the nature is the same, namely cooperative writing. As a new teaching theory and model, Cooperative learning, which the new curriculum standards initiates, is now widely used in many countries worldwide. Cooperative learning highlights the interactive face-to-face study between the students, promote the effective communication between them, and enable students to learn to work with others, to listen, and to share. With cooperative learning, our classroom is filled with wisdom and intelligence gradually, and full of vitality and vigor. Considered effective, cooperative learning now obtains the widespread exploration and is widely applied in middle school English teaching, particularly in enhancing students'English speaking, listening, and reading ability. As for English writing, cooperative learning is explored and used less in this area, and there hasn't been a more influential mode formed in English writing.Based on this point, the writer introduced cooperative learning into the teaching of English writing to high school. As a high school English teacher, the writer explored cooperative learning in English teaching actively, particularly in the writing teaching to optimize student's writing style, and raise their efficiency and level of English writing, hoping that my research can provide an experience for English writing's cooperation study research to use for reference.
