Object To revise the test of creative imagination (TCI) and investigate the college students' creative thinking level and structure.Methods We use the methods of back-translation and expert evaluation to form the Chinese version of the test of creative imagination preliminarily. The400students were investigated by TCI-C using questionnaire survey in three universities of Henan province.360effective questionnaires were reclaimed and the reliability and validity of the test were analyzed by using SPSS16.0software, as well as the item analysis and demographic differences.Results The revised test is consisted of2items; the difficulty of the whole test is0.43; the retest reliability is0.763; the alpha coefficient based on the standard is0.896; the correlation coefficient that with curiosity, imagination and the whole creativity aptitude test are0.588,0.699and0.622(p<0.01). The correlation coefficient that TCI with groundbreaking personality in the Chinese seven factor personality scale is0.310, but no significant correlation with other indexes. There are some significant differences in gender, professional and area in University Students' creative thinking. The results showed that the score of the female are significantly higher than that of the male (p<0.0\); the score of the small and medium-sized city are higher than that of the rural city or municipality directly(p<0.01); the score of the literature history and agricultural medicine are higher than in the polytechnic-schools(/?<0.01)too; the score didn't have significant differences among different ages in the test of creative thinking.Conclusion The revised tests of creative thinking (TCI-C) meet for the psychometric requirements in the internal consistency reliability, test-retest reliability, content validity and empirical validity. It is applicable to Chinese college students. The level that College Students'creative thinking developmented is not balanced. Girls showed generally higher than boys in creative thinking level; College students from small and medium-sized city are higher than those from rural or municipalities; College students in literature, history, agriculture and medicine departments are better than those in science and engineer departments. The creative thinking of college students has close relations with the groundbreaking personality but has no significant relations with the other personalities.
