To cultivate students'study autonomy is one of the main tasks for junior English teaching. English vocabulary learning strategies is one important aspect of study autonomy. In view of the gap between the importance of vocabulary learning strategies and awkward situation of the students'learning, the author tried carrying out the experimental research with cognitive theories as the base. With the surveys of the students'present vocabulary learning situation the author found out their main obstacles. Thanks to the interviews and classroom-teaching analysis, the author kept adjusting and improving teaching techniques, by integrating the vocabulary learning strategies into the daily teaching and being self-reflective often. Thus students learning behavior changed with their understanding and awareness improved and their learning abilities enhanced. Finally their learning efficiency was greatly improved. The research results confirm among cognitive, meta-cognitive and affective strategies meta-cognitive strategies are most ignored and need to be cultivated. The results also show study efficiency can be improved and students'motivation can be enhanced, thus students can get more chances of using language and finally become independent learners. Many factors influence learning strategies. As teachers, our teaching experience and teaching methods exercise invisible influence on students'learning strategies. So based on transformations of both teaching and learning modes, fostering students'learning strategies can ensure good effects of classroom teaching and train successful English learners. Basically there are three learning strategy training modes to choose: dedicated, integrated and adjunct instruction. Situations decide the choices. While practicing training, teachers should keep an eye on the diversity of training materials, flexibility of training approaches and the depth and insistence of the training. Meanwhile the training should be carried out gradually and there should be more ways to evaluate the training effect.
