English teaching of the high school is an important part of English Education in China. And how to master the English vocabulary has been one of the key issues in learning English.Based on the practice of high school English classroom, the paper tries to apply more vocabulary recitation strategies in English learning to help the learners to learn the words effectively.The study selected two classes in a high school, one class were taught in traditional ways and the other were instructed with a lot of vocabulary memory strategies. After one term experiment, a vocabulary test was conducted, and the data were processed by statistical t-test. The results showed that students in the experimental class possessed more vocabulary than the control class, which proved that the difference of the two classes recitation ability did really exist and vocabulary memory strategies can effectively improve students' vocabulary. Finally the paper makes some suggestions for memorizing the vocabulary scientifically in English classroom.
