| School value-added assessment plays a key role in education evaluation system.For traditional evaluation method, it is both a development and supplement.Based on the development concept, school value-added assessment pay more attention to the disadvantaged students and schools,strengthening the principle of fairness.School value-added assessment, on the one hand, are helpful to the education administration to evaluate schools more effectively and to invest education more rationally; on the other hand, schools can get detailed and summary data from school value-added assessment, knowing its insufficient advantages, then improving its educational quality.This study is under guidance of the concept about value-added assessment, In order to explore evaluation methods about schools which are scientific and operable, we choose college entrance examination results of544schools from2006to2010in a certain province, to evaluate the effectiveness of value-added about a certain school and a certain district by HLM, and comparatively analyse the differences of effectiveness of value-added among different school groups. We found that the same school showed different advantages among different subjects or the total score or the value-added performance of different years; schools in the same area aslo performed differently in the subjects,the total score and the value-added performance of different years; there are differences in value-added performance among different types of schools.The three type schools performed worse in total score of arts and science while the first type schools performed better in total score of arts and science.Besides, the study can both enrich the theory of school productivity evaluation and be popularized in large-scale tests for using of multi-level development modeling techniques. |
