Research On The Selection Mode Of Academic Doctoral Admission In China

Currently, it's a top priority for China to select outstanding innovative talents in the admissions of academic doctors. However, there are various defects when selecting creative talents within the traditional recruitment mechanism, such as insufficient high-quality applicants, insufficient decision-making powers in grass-roots unit, etc. Sampling the faculty of56Chinese research universities which has independent graduate school, this paper conducted a questionnaire investigation, demonstrated the popularization of application mode for admission to doctoral education.As far as the faculty concerned, it's the right time to introduce and spread the application mode for admission to doctoral education, and it's suitable to spread it from science to liberal arts. In order to select the talents of greater academic potential for scientific research, it is urgent to give the departments and mentors more authority. Only in this way can the grass-roots units set up targeted recruitment programs according to their individual disciplinary nature, especially for the central and western regions. Much attention was paid to the applicants'research achievement, interview performance and dissertation for master degree. It is popular for the faculty to raise the proportion of the full-time applicants and candidates without master degree. In addition, it is essential for the application mode for admission to set up strict interim evaluation and wash-out mechanism.
