Training Project for Youth Marxists plays an important role in the revolution, reconstruction and opening-up epochs led by the Communist Party of China. At present, training youth Marxists is an important part in ideological and political education in colleges and universities, which enriches ideological and political education methods and plays an active role in promoting its effects. As the college students' concentration front, institutions of higher education are responsible for training a great number of youth Marxists, which is in accord with colleges and universities'ideological and political work requirements and the purpose of Training Project for Youth Marxists. By deeply analyzing the training of youth Marxists, this article serves to enrich the contents of ideological and political education in colleges and universities; moreover, it offers valuable examples for the comprehensive training of contemporary college and university students.On the one hand, training youth Marxists pointedly in institutions of higher education promotes the improvement and development of ideological and political education in colleges and universities; on the other hand, it stoutens the belief of the young college and university students in this key period of the new century, guides the formation of youth thought characters positively towards an healthy direction and makes them grow up into an outstanding adults so as to be builders and successors for socialist undertakings or causes. By using documentary research and questionnaire approach, this article explores the definition of Youth Marxists and claims the background information, the underlying reasons of the existing problems, principles and effective approaches of the training of youth Marxists against the background of ideological and political education in colleges and universities. The concrete structure of the article is as follows:The first chapter summarizes the training of youth Marxists and the study of ideological and political education in colleges and universities in a general aspect and states the overall situation of the study in four parts:the backgrounds and significance of the study; the current situation of the study; the methods and contents of the study; the focuses, difficulties and innovative points of the study.The second chapter reviewing the development of the definition "Youth Marxists" in history, it claims the basic qualities of being a youth Marxist in the contemporary period, explains the "Training Project for Youth Marxists" lodged by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and its preliminary practice in the institutions of higher education. The above three aspects give a basic analysis and summary of the methods of promoting effectively the training of youth Marxists in colleges and universities.The third chapter introducing the international and national background of the youth Marxists and the distinct advantages colleges and universities have in the training of youth Marxists, it clarifies that the training of youth Marxists is an important project the colleges and universities should undertake in the students' ideological and political education.The forth chapter examining the results of the questionnaires and exposing the critical problems existing in the training of the youth Marxists in colleges and universities and analyzes the underlying reasons, which foreshadows the forthcoming solutions.The fifth chapter expounds the principles that we should stick in the process of training youth Marxists:the theory education should be integrated with practice; short-term training with long-term self-education; training backbones with pushing forward all-around; the general rules of college students'growth and progress with the special acquirements being the youth Marxists call for.The sixth chapter claims the effective methods colleges and universities apply in the process of training youth Marxists. By means of theory education, actual practice, expanding the coverage, building comfortable atmosphere and establishing security mechanism, the training of youth Marxists can be deeply developed.To sum up, attaching importance to the training of youth Marxists in ideological and political education in colleges and universities is badly needed in training more and more successors to the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics at present. The training of youth Marxists in colleges and universities should keep pace with the times, integrate the theory with practice, and lay more emphasis on the significances of practice guided by the theory on the youth Marxists. In addition, in spite of all those points above, good atmosphere and powerful guarantee should be provided so as to promote the effective implementation of the project. Based on that, this article contributes meagerly to explore the effective ways of training youth Marxists in college and universities, and make the efforts to realize the value of the author, a researcher on ideological and political education.
