As the basis for carrying all types of services, the transmission network is the key of the telecom network construction. The telecom operators focus on these problems such as, how to solve the various problems in the transmission network, how to make the network structure into clearly, how to support more abundant services, how to make the network more convenient maintenance operations, more efficient circuit creation, more reliable services and smooth upgrade, how to reap the maximum benefits by using the network fully and efficiently, in network construction and maintenance. There are a series questions followed as the mobile services became the main service of the transmission network.Transmission network optimization has been proposed in this context. It's considered by the majority of operators gradually.In this paper, the major works done by the author are:1. From the network structure, the status of use, the development trends, and the other aspects, especially focused on the mobile services, the author analysis the local transmission network status and development trends in Beijing Unicom.2. On the basis of existing transmission network data acquisition and theoretical analysis, the paper analyzes the problem, the network bottleneck and the risks of security.3. Base of the analysis result, in accordance with the actual status of the Beijing Unicom, the author design an optimization program in the scale of the whole network.4. During the year, using the optimization design program, we implement a local transmission network optimization, and achieved the desired result.Through transmission network optimization, the transmission capacity, the resource utilization, and the reliability have been substantially higher. So it proved that the design optimization program is feasible and effective.
