Design And Implementation Of Data Warehouse In China Media School System

As the rapid development of databacse technology, many schools use the computer system to make their analyses of students'data and make decision depend on the data mining technology. Daily management of teaching and educational affairs plays an important role at The Open University of China. Educational institutions all over the country are actively developing their own management systems. However, with the amount of data in those systems continuously growing and user demand ever increasing, general management systems cannot meet decision-makers'needs to select and analyze valuable information or to use that information as a reference in decision making. To a certain extent, this limits the further improvement of management quality at these institutions.Based on the database of many schools, firstly ETL the data to effective data that can be used in the data warehouse by SQL Sever SSIS. Using the SQL Sever SSAS to analyze the data and make the student table, course table, resource table etc. Then using OLAP and Microsoft Excel and SSRS to show or draft pictures about the data results in different demand, points and gradation. Have the valuable data that wanted and information desired, managers can see the trend or result of every factor or point they interesting. All in all, the data warehouse technology can manger the school education system more visible and efficient, and help the managers make the decision confident.In the school education system, using the data warehouse technology and on-line analytical processing to mine the data from diffident sides, gradation and points to show the data relationship, to forecast the data trend and situation. Make several system:like school system, stdudents system, course systerm, result system etc. Then analyze what factors is key to the results wanted. In all, managers can get their valuable data or information and make decision. Using the student recruit system, course system, drop out system, result system to help the manager to make future decision and arrange the resource of school.
