On June 9,2008, as the successful launch of "zhongxing 9" satellite, China have the television broadcast satellite with anti-jamming ability for the first time. "Zhongxing 9" satellite system adopts the channel coding standard ABS-S (advanced satellite radio system) developed by our country with independent intellectual property. The standard is a new generation standard of satellite transmission technology designed by national security administration in order to live security organization. It has achieved the international advanced level, which is incompatible with the existing foreign satellite transmission standards. With the addition of other technical measures, it can ensure the safety of satellite live broadcasting business. China is known for her massive land. In order to solve the difficulty of watching broadcast TV in the remote agricultural and pastoral areas, the state starts the "Every Village" project to satisfy the visual demand of the masses of laboring people by expanding the radio and television coverage in rural areas. ABS-S digital satellite set-top box is compatible with the domestic ABS-S live satellite digital TV standard, which is one of the technical solution adopted in "Every Village" project. In this background, this paper is to develop the satellite digital television set-top box,which conforms to the current situation of satellite digital television in our country. The satellite receiving set-top box DVB VC-9303S is the newest product researched by VCOM company. It supports DVB-S,ABS-S agreement satellite signal decoding and the video encoding mode of MPEG1,MPEG2,MPEG4,H.264. By use of main processor NXP PNX8932E, it can provide the highest computing power reaching of 320M. Equipped with satellite high-frequency head interface and large capacity hard disk, it can provide the function of satellite signal play and record, information browsing and so on. Along with the Ethernet interface, inline browser, graphics library and network protocol stack, it can realize many functions including IPTV system login through IP network support, IPTV page views, video on demand, multicast way live and both Chinese and English putin etc. It supports USB peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse by USB2.0 interface, which can be directly operated on the hard disk with USB slave interface. With the purpose to improve reliability and stability of product hardware performance, this paper emphasises on the further study and solution discussion of infrared receiving, crystal module.
