Environment for transport in the atmosphere,because of atmospheric turbulence, scattering, and aircraft boundary layer effects, the power and shape of the spot will continue to change and drift, energy is no longer a Gaussian distribution, the shape will become broken or hollowed out.This paper designs the image processing technology based on FPGA calculating the miss distance through centroid algorithm.Using the IMPERX's VGA-210-type CCD camera to capture the laser beam, The output of the spot image data as the standard Camera Link format, After NI produced DS90CR288A the camera output data conversion standard TTL signal connected with the FPGA chip and processed, including image segmentation,3x3 window filter,the exact spot center position then is calculated by centroid algorithm, and finally through the RS485 protocol serial output of the miss distance. At the same time, the spot image through VGA agreement displayed on the CRT monitor in real time.
