| In recent years China has seen rapid growth in export software product, while at the same time software has been widely used across the country as well. As a result, market begins to recognize the importance of software quality. Software testing is performed to discover software defects to improve software quality. This has led to the development of Chinese software testing industry.The factors that impact on testing quality are not only testing technology and method but also the management of testing process, which include test requirements analysis process, creation of test plan and monitoring process, configuration management, defect management and measurement process. This thesis is intended to discuss the management contents and management methodology of above process, and how to improve the software testing quality via improving the visibility and controllability of process, which is also known as process capability.This thesis started with a summary of different factors that will influence software testing quality, especially analyzed the correlations between process and quality. It then proposed a process management methodology of software testing project, and demonstrated the feasibility and efficiency of this methodology through hands-on experiences.The framework of this thesis is consisted of analysis of problem, proposition of management methodology and summary based on a practical usage. First it analyzed how process impacts quality and proves the critical role of process management. Second it suggests the management methods of five crucial processes supporting software testing after analyzing a typical software testing procedure. At end a middle-scale typical pre-sale process management system is used as an example to reach the conclusion.The main works done on this thesis are:1. Illustrates the importance of process has on the quality of software testing.2. Proposes software testing process management methodology.3.
