In recent years, many research interests have been focused on wireless sensor networks due to its own distinguish features and the wide application prospect. But the limitations in resources, especially in power of wireless sensor network nodes challenge its development. Therefore, studying and designing route protocols excellent in power-efficiency become an important issue in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we first introduce wireless sensor networks'concept and classification in exordium; also we analysis the research situation and inefficiency of multicast route protocol of wireless sensor networks. After that, in first chapter, we propose a beaconing-aided multicast protocol based on the combination of stochastic routing and face-routing. This protocol can effectively prolong the life time of network. In order to achieve the goal of making a further optimization in energy consumption, in the second chapter, we propose an energy efficient multicast protocol by dividing the multicast routing into several unicast routing between parent nodes and child nodes of virtual minimum spanning tree constructed in advance. Also we introduce modify factor to resolve the void problem. In third chapter, we extend our research field to the whole wireless network. We propose a new strategy to improve the multicast efficiency of wireless network containing selfish nodes by introducing reputation mechanism based on Beta distribution in the process of constructing multicast path. We conclude our works in the fourth chapter, and propose some valuable issues for further research.
