The dedicated information network is a primary condition for the implement of high-level informational management in transport industry. A national-wide dedicated information network was built in 2006 by Ministry of Transport. However, since the high-speed development of informational industry and the wide spread of electronic government administration system, the capacity of the current dedicated network is no longer competent. Based on the research background of network Upgrade of dedicated information network for transport industry, the author proposed the network upgrade solution and implements the upgrade, solved the bottleneck of network bandwidth and improved the reliability.The author analyzed the current situation of network construction and application system of the dedicated network of transport industry. The dedicated network consists of the core node and several Class-1 nodes, connected by wide area network using E1 dedicated transmission line with a bandwidth of 2 Megabytes. In recent years, due to a rapid increase in the numbers of dedicated network-based national video conference and the release of many business application systems such as government administration information exchange, road transportation core data exchange and etc., the dedicated network workload keeps increasing. Based on such analysis, the author proposed to upgrade the objective and principle of dedicated network, and performed demand analysis of the upgrade. The upgrade is carried out with an emphasis on the core node, with demand of routine capacity expand, network redundant backup, network flow measure and control and network management.According to the network upgrade objective, the author synthesized the factors of smooth transition and the expansibility of follow-up usages, went through a comparison of candidate solutions, chosen the upgrade proposal and drew the connection and general plan chart. Based on this effort, the author further designed the node IP address segment and the network address table as well as provided the route table configuration. According to the requirements from relevant technical documentations, the principle of device selection is made explicit, and the selection of devices such like core routers, boards, firewalls and flow controls as well as the selection of network management software is performed. Based on the upgrade solution, the network upgrade of the core node and Class-1 nodes are carried out and the design of network flow control device and network management system is provided. A router switch bench mark test is performed to validate the proposed design.After the dedicated network upgrade, many applications including network connected united control system of specific vehicles are realized, and the network is now capable to connect with other application dedicated network. The effect of the upgrade has been implemented through practical employment and the objective of the upgrade is fully achieved.
