"patient-centered" Design And Implementation Of Hospital Information Systems

Nowadays, the medicare medical system reform has entered the stage of tackling the key problems in China. A series of the reforms, such as promulgation of national urban medical insurance system, respective check and management of treatment and drug income, and tendency to group company and corporation management of hospital, are being carried out. The heath care information system (HCIS) is endowed with higher expectations. According to the survey of national authority of medical institution, 80% hospital's information management still lies at the initial stage of MIS. The present HCIS was developed before medical reform, often adopting the model that regards the finance or the disease as the center. The model can not provide patients personified diagnostic services, and is hard to adapt to the requirement of the current medical management.The HCIS of some affiliated hospital of Nanjing is studied in this thesis. In the light of structural method of life cycle about MIS and learning from Hong Kong's experience in constructing medical information highway, the thesis conducts an initial survey and the necessecity analysis on the system condition, and put forward HCIS model which regards the patient as a center. What's more, overall and detailed designs are made, including a function diagram of the overall structure, a flow diagram of the transaction. Based on the data flow diagram and the data dictionary, a new logical model comes up. In order to set up a sound management system, it establishes a patient-centered system and conducted some related tests. HCIS changes the traditional finance/disease-centered model, and provides a patient-centered model for the hospital informationization.
