In recent years, the rapidly development of computer technology, information processing technique and network communications technique have exerted profound influence upon the substation automation system. With the forming of UHV Transmission and bulk power system, the safety, stability, reliable, control and mutual information of power system are being put into a higher level. Based on IEC61850 serial standards, the integrate, intelligent and informationization of substation can be realized. Also IEC61850 serial standards have result in tremendous change in structure, disposition, technical characteristics and application of substation automated equipment, and promote the two level structures of substation level and bay level of substation automated system transition to the three level structures of substation level, bay level and process level. IEC61850 serial standards also will come to slitless information exchange of substation monitoring system, and will establish open architecture, to improve the optimization and integration of the resources. The IEC61850 imploys the object-oriented, facility-oriented modelling and self-description method, reach the objectives of inter-operation among of intelligent device, and improve the technical level of the system, enrich the connotation of the substation intelligent technologies, which will offer sustainable and reliable support to the development of healthily grow of substation intelligent technologies.This paper introduces the development and the actual situation of the smart substation firstly, then analyzes the intelligent information processing substation system. From the functional needs of smart substation for substation system, sevel key techniques of intelligent information processing substation system are analyzed. Synthesize the existing substation communication manager, a scheme architecture of software sytem based on embedded hardware platform and embedded Linux operation system is presented. This paper describes the software frame of intelligent information processing substation based on object-oriented OOA method, and a concrete implementation method for the programming control key technique is advanced. At last, this paper illustrates by examples for the application in smart substation of intelligent information processing substation, and prospects of advanced software and hardware platforms of intelligent information processing substation and its practical significance are given.
