| In this thesis, as to the problem of the western media "demonized China", the author analysis it from two aspects: longitudinal and transverse. From the vertical, the author traces the history of western "demonized China". From the history of eighteenth century, French Enlightenment, during which some thinkers had some words about "demonized China", the "Yellow Peril", Red Devils, and the China threat theory, the author believe western "demonized China" is essentially a kind of cultural colonialism. As to its history background, we can see that the eighteenth century is a century that the western world advanced China, quickly western power invaded China in the field of political, economic and military, cultural aggression subsequently, as this point, we can see it from the event of foreigners' running paper in China. From the horizontal, the author introduce the state of western media "demonized China", and do a lot of reason analysis. Based on the angle of cultural imperialism, from the interests of their own country, western media will "demonized China" subjectively. Based on the perspective of cultural misunderstanding, intercultural communication has lead to western media "demonized China" objectively. Based on the imbalance information of the world's dissemination, and also the different voice between China and the west, we see that in the international market, news flows from "North" to "South", such a one-way communication pattern, as a spread of weak, China can only be "demonized". While standing in the position of China, Chinese information communication channel is not free as well as the arduous and complex of Chinese reform, which also provides an opportunity for western media "demonized China".Finally, from the angle of Chinese government, it will play a main role in public diplomacy from the angle of Chinese folk, Chinese folk diplomacy will make a difference, from the angle of Chinese comprehensive national strength, it should be promoted, from the three aspects, the author put forward some coping strategies. |
