The Study Of Media Literacy Of People In Middle Western Region Of China

With the development of modern society, mass media has appeared and, thanks to its boom, the new media system represented by printed medium, electronic media and internet has been formed since the 20th century. Over three decades of reform and opening up, various fields of our country have had a tremendous change. As for journalism media, highly-developed media have nearly penetrated into every aspect of society. Based on the fact that society needs the media, media have exerted an influence on the technical level and people's thoughts, feelings, and even behaviors. Nowadays, we live in a society of ubiquitous media. In China, the world's most populous country, farmers still account for a large proportion during the course of our country's transition from a traditional society to a modern society, so the issues of agriculture, farmer and rural areas have been the major problems in Chinese development. In the long run, the improvement of farmers'quality which can meet the requirement of modernization will certainly be the hard nut and the key of promoting new construction in rural areas since farmers are still an important part of population in our country. The quality of farmers relates with the development speed of rural areas, and, in other word, remains top priority in the development of rural politics, economy and culture. Numerous farmers who have been cultivated to play to their strengths will be needed for the national development. The 12th Five-Year Plan continues to accelerate the new countryside construction as the premise of realizing the well-off society. From the viewpoint of journalism communication, the study on peasants'accomplishment is the equivalent of study on the adaptability and the utilization ability of farmers to media. In the information society, farmers' media accomplishment is to dominate the process speed of modernization, which makes a strong impact on farmers'living standard increase and social stability. At this stage, the improvement of farmers'media accomplishment links not only to the growth of rural society and economy but also to the implementation of grand target to build a harmonious and comparatively well-off society.Mass media is evolving every passing day. It plays an important role in the side of life and the concept changing. It is the major source of information. The spread of mass media promoted the new rural construction and rural development, also the development of the rural country affect the mass media. This study is based on the background, attempting to exam the media literacy of farmers, in order to contrast the differences between eastern part and mid-western part. Based on the depth grasp of mid-western farmers media literacy, and contrast it to the eastern farmers, in order to have a complete summarizing.
