With the refinement of social labor division, supply chain systems are becoming more and more sophisticated. In order to facilitate supply chain management and improve supply chain's efficiency, computer and information technology are more and more applied in the SCM. In this case, the virtual logistics center came into being. Virtual Logistics Center is the combination product of information technology and logistics, which can largely eliminate the bullwhip effect in supply chain, and improve information sharing among the supply chain members, thus to achieve accelerate market reaction speed, reduce waste, and cut down cost of the hole supply chain. However, the theory and the practices of virtual logistics center are not very mature. In this context, the thesis study the theory and he key technologies of virtual logistics centerBased on the scholars'research of theoretical and practices of virtual logistics center. Paper analysis the theory of virtual logistics center, define its concept clearly, make out the difference and between virtual logistics organization and virtual logistics center. And then this paper elaborates its features, functions and significance. Afterwards this paper proposes a life cycle model of virtual logistics center, and divides its life cycle into three stages:construction, operation and dissolution. After that the paper describes the detail of three-stage process, and briefly discusses the key issues of these processes. Then paper selects two representative problems, the construction of work platform of virtual logistics center and the logistics network planning of supply chain, to research. Work platform is very important to virtual logistics center, for it is the external manifestation of the virtual logistics center. So it is necessary to research the work platform. To study the work platform, firstly paper determine functional requirements, and then set the function module, after then set its structure. Virtual logistics network planning is an important function of the logistics center, logistics network planning can achieve the improvement of the logistics supply chain's efficiency and the reduction of costs. The key point of the logistics network planning is the model design and solving. The paper uses genetic algorithms to solve the model. And finally an example is used for authentication.The research enriches the virtual logistics center theory, and provides a theoretical basis and implementation guide for the construction of virtual logistics center at the same time. Paper has important theoretical and practical significance.
