Interest groups, an important part of American political system, are playing a more and more significant role in American domestic politics and the width and depth of its influence on American domestic and foreign policies are increasingly widened and deepened. As American policy-making moves toward pluralism and decentralization, also with the post--crisis American economic situation and the development of Sino-American trade, the inducement for interest groups to interfere with American trade policy with China is increasing, also the power and form of interference is becoming stronger and more diversified. So, it is of great realistic significance to conduct systemic research on interest groups and their influence on American trade policy. This thesis concentrates on interest groups and its structure are as follows:the history of interest groups, their classification and the theoretical motivations to interfere with trade policies are the foundations of the understanding toward interest groups; and the measures, characteristics and limits of interest groups' interfere on American's trade policy is the key to effectively deal with issues with interest groups. Also to research on the benefits and disadvantages of interest groups is effective guarantee for us to handle the issues with interest groups in American trade policies. Among the interest groups, multinational corporations (MNC) are directly influenced by American trade policies, so their influence on trade policies is typical and worth being studied. Through the analysis of MNCs' relation with government and the example of their influence on trade policies, the mechanism and process of interest groups' influence on trade policies are better demonstrated. The final part of this thesis is the countermeasures toward the influence of interest groups on trade policies.
