Researching On Financial Corporate Social Responsibility

Since its being, corporate social responsibility (CSR) has turned from a management idea into company action and international social responsibility standards. Now, people have paid attention to this issue, such as scholars, managers and other peoples from different countries.Because of the particularity of financial industry, not too many people think of its social responsibility assuming at the beginning, but that does not mean it needn't to bear social responsibility. It is precisely because of the particularity to the financial industry, especially the banking industry-has strong sociality, influence to social economic, and the responsibility of maintaining financial stability, we need to study and discuss on the financial corporate social responsibility. Therefore, unlike the most previous researches do(excluding the financial industry), the paper will do empirical study specifically for the financial corporate social responsibility.The paper summarizes and reviews the origin and development of corporate social responsibility, straighten out the basic framework of social responsibility and analyze the actuality of corporate social responsibility and the actuality of financial corporate. Then use Ministry of Finance's social contribution rate, join in industry scale as a control variable, do research based on China's financial listed companies'social responsibility information. Then have a descriptive statistics and a regression analysis on the relationship between corporate social responsibility and shareholder performance.Through the descriptive statistics of social contribution rate, we found China's financial corporate social contribution rate is generally low, and know the development level of China's financial corporate social responsibility is not high.Then, through the descriptive statistics of the shareholder performance and industry scale, we have an understanding to the status of China's financial corporate shareholder performance and industry scale.Finally, we do a regression analysis on the relationship of social contribution rate, shareholder performance and industry scale, find financial corporate social responsibility concept still need to develop. We need to promote social responsibility concept, perfect the corporate social responsibility self-regulatory system and information disclosure system in financial industry.
