Our Special Marine Protected Areas, Ecotourism Suitability Study

As a type of marine protected areas, special marine protected areas are established on the general principle of sustainable development with an objective of reasonable exploitation resources and protection of marine environment. Currently, the development of special marine protected areas in our country is still incomplete. A win-win situation between the economic development and protection of the marine ecological resources has not fully revealed. As the best way of sustainable tourism, eco-tourism is an effective approach to sustainable development. How to make the eco-tourism suitability evaluation correctly and objectively and how to have the eco-tourism resources exploitation reasonably are the premises to achieve the sustainable development in special marine protected areas.The eco-tourism suitability evaluation of special marine protected mainly talks about whether eco-tourism can be developed, if so, to what extend and what's the suitable pattern in different functional area. Firstly, after the analysis of special marine protected areas and eco-tourism, based on the theory of marine science, sustainable tourism and low-carbon tourism, the article establishes the eco-tourism suitability evaluation index system of special marine protected areas from four aspects, including eco-tourism environment, tourism resources, tourism market and development requirement. Using AHP to determine index weight, selecting the niche suitability degree method to construct eco-tourism suitability degree evaluation model, the paper divide the results into five grades. Under the analysis of sensitiveness, the eco-tourism development sensibility evaluation index system of special marine protected areas is constructed. And then, how to determine the suitable pattern according to the sensitiveness in different functional area is discussed. At last, the paper takes the liyashan oyster reef special marine protected area of haimen city, Jiangsu province as a study case, and carries on research from two aspects:suitability degree and suitable pattern in different functional area. In the light of the evaluation result, some suggestions are proposed in order to the sustainable development of the study case.The research about eco-tourism suitability evaluation of special marine protected areas can be regard as a meaningful attempt. In the theory, the combination of tourism and oceanography, and the establishment of the eco-tourism suitability evaluation index system and evaluation model of special marine protected areas have some study implications in a way. In practice, the research will play a role in the reasonable development of special marine protected areas. It can also make suggestions about plans, development and management to the governments.
